Moon Magnet Founder Reed Fox Honored with CU Denver Outstanding Alumni Award
We’re excited to share some incredible news: our founder and creative director, Reed, has been recognized with the Outstanding Alumni Award from the University of Colorado Denver's College of Arts & Media (CAM).
The recognition is especially meaningful as this is only the second year this award has been presented by CAM. Reed was honored for his contributions to music education, community building, and the independent arts scene in Denver. This work has been at the heart of
Moon Magnet since its founding, and we are incredibly proud that it is now being recognized.
A Recognition for Denver's Music Community
While this award recognizes Reed’s individual efforts, it also reflects something much bigger: the strength and impact of Denver’s creative community.
For years, Moon Magnet has been built on the belief that music and the arts have the power to make a meaningful impact in a world that often underestimates their value. Whether through music lessons in Denver, live events, artist development, or recording projects, our mission has always been to create opportunities for people to connect, grow, and express themselves through music.
This recognition from CU Denver highlights the importance of that work and reinforces what we've long believed: that Denver is a place where musicians, artists, educators, and creative entrepreneurs can thrive together.
From an Artist Collective to Three Denver Music Businesses
The journey began in 2013 as a small artist collective focused on supporting local musicians and fostering creative collaboration. Over the years, that vision has grown into three
Denver based music businesses, each dedicated to helping people discover their unique musical voice through a modern Denver music education and creative services ecosystem.
Today, Moon Magnet Music School serves more than 100 students throughout the Denver metro area. With a team of 28 experienced instructors, we provide personalized in-home music lessons in Denver, designed to make learning accessible, engaging, and inspiring for students of all ages and skill levels.
Moon Magnet DJ Productions has become an award winning event entertainment company, providing professional DJ services for weddings, corporate events, schools, and private celebrations across Colorado.
Moon Magnet Mixing & Mastering supports independent artists and organizations through professional audio production services. The studio has worked with a wide range of musicians and institutions, including Meow Wolf, helping bring creative projects to life through high quality recording, mixing, and mastering.
We’re incredibly grateful to CU Denver’s College of Arts & Media for this honor and to the students, families, artists, teachers, clients, and community members who have been part of the Denver music community and the Moon Magnet journey.
