A kids party DJ always does these three things:
Reading the room. Six year-olds at 2pm and ten year olds at 6pm are on different planets. We adjust in real time and notice when energy dips, the music shifts.
Running the party. Dance contests, freeze dance, limbo, or requests from the birthday kid all afternoon. Your job becomes standing back and filming the important moments.
Sound like it matters. Quality speakers are set to kid safe volume, but always enough to have fun. Plus, lights and optional fog add to their experience. When the room looks and sounds like a real show, kids act like it's a real show.

Who You're Hiring
Moon Magnet was started in 2013 by Reed Fox, who has taught music to kids for 14 years through Moon Magnet Music School. That background is the whole reason this works. Our DJs are hired and trained by someone who knows the difference between a room of six year olds and a room of sixteen year olds, and who knows that a kid who doesn't want to dance yet usually just needs one more song before they do.
The company has DJ'd for every age group there is, from toddler dance floors to continuation ceremonies at Levitt Pavilion. Weddings, corporate galas, school dances, Meow Wolf, Treefort, UMS, and most of Denver's clubs. The kids' parties are still the ones our DJs fight over.
Every Song Gets Screened
No surprise curse words, no lyrics you'll have to explain later. We preview every track before it plays, and if a kid requests something borderline, we've got a clean version ready to go instead.
Sound That Won't Hurt Their Ears
We run the volume at a level built for a room full of kids, not a nightclub. You'll still get the appropriate lights and the energy, just without anyone covering their ears or a getting upset.
